“This baited area is right next to our community garden” - Miller

Brooklyn, New York

A baited area is where “salt, grain, or other feed has been placed, exposed, deposited, distributed, or scattered” in such a way as to lure or attract waterfowl or doves where hunters are attempting to take them.  This includes luring birds “to, on or over areas” where hunting occurs.

Baited area with poison sign may be required if a pest control company has used rat poison to eradicate a rodent infestation. The area pictured looks like a prime burrowing area.

Baited is referring to the poisoned bait for pests, they are not luring animals to hunt in Brooklyn.
