WHO’S THE SHAMEFUL NEIGHBOR HERE?

A neighbors’ dispute over a missing tree led police to discover marijuana plants growing in the backyard of a Port St. Lucie home. Port St. Lucie (Florida) police were called to the 200 block of SW Oakridge Drive on Sunday by a man reporting that a tree his daughter had planted was missing from his yard. The man told police he suspected his neighbor had taken the tree. He looked into neighbor’s yard and saw marijuana plants growing there.

The marijuana plants belonged to Kathleen Martin, 59, and Bryan William Martin, 50, of 261 SW Oakridge Drive, according to the police report. As police were trying to get Bryan Martin to answer the door of their house, Kathleen Martin arrived home and told police that they were growing the marijuana for personal use because it helps Bryan Martin sleep.

Police seized four marijuana plants. The Martins were each arrested on charges of possession of marijuana over 20 grams; possession of drug paraphernalia; and intent to sell marijuana. They were taken to the St. Lucie County Jail, where Kathleen Martin was released on a $15,750 bond and Bryan Martin was released on a $1,500 bond.

NEIGHBOR’S EXPLODING CORPSE LEAVES WOMAN WITH A CLEANUP BILL STATE FARM WON’T COVER

JUPITER, Fla. – An exploding decomposing body that later causes extensive condo property damage. What at first appears to be a bizarre situation happened in Jupiter a few years back. But on the question of liability, an appeals court just concluded State Farm, the insurance company that issued the home policy, isn’t liable for clean up costs.

Apparently in Florida, this type of situation is not that rare. ”She was, just kept to herself,” said Kip Sprankle, talking about the woman whose body exploded. “And I guess she was there like two weeks and I guess no one realized it.” Sprankle and his wife live in the same condo building where the remains of the decomposing body were eventually discovered.

An employee said over the phone that because of Florida’s aging population and the hot climate, situations like what happened here – body decomposing, exploding, then causing damage due to time – happens quite a lot.

As for the homeowner who fought State Farm and lost, Judy Rodrigo moved away. Her insurance policy said it covered “explosions”, but the District Court of Appeal of the State of Florida Fourth District wrote in their opinion that under the plain language definition of explosion, a body expanding and bursting in a condo wasn’t covered.

MAN WITH MACHETE ARRESTED AFTER ARGUMENT WITH NEIGHBOR OVER GRASS CLIPPINGS

A dispute between Jacksonville neighbors over grass clippings involved one man armed with two small knives vs. another with a machete and five Rottweilers. When police said the one threatened to sic his dogs on an officer, that was enough to get him arrested Tuesday.

Officers found 44-year-old Bobby Riggs Williams screaming and making racial comments toward David Burke when they arrived to the 10400 block of Ebbitt Road about 11:15 a.m., according to the arrest report. Williams is black.

The neighbor, whose age and race were not listed, told police he took out a pocket knife for protection after Williams threatened him about grass clippings that were blown onto his property, the report said.

The neighbor said Williams got a machete from his car and returned raising it toward him and threatening to kill him, the report said. Burke armed himself with a second small knife and told Williams to leave, which he eventually did.

When police tried to get Williams to come outside his chain-link fence, they said he refused and repeatedly said he would release his dogs to attack, the report said.

By about 2 p.m. officers were able to get Williams to leave his property. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

“Christmas lights have been up for Years, garage filled with stuff falling out, inoperative truck in driveway since last year with trash in the bed, window rattler in window because they wont fix the AC, shovel in hole where they dug up the septic, yard never mowed, trees overgrown, garbage thrown all over yard, Trash can still at road on Mon when trash day was Sat (I thought the city was suppose to fine you for that?)
